On Sunday, August 3, Rick Svenddal, long-time musical evangelist with the FCA, went to be with the Lord. His health had been declining for several months.

Along with his wife, Bebe, Rick accepted Christ as Savior years ago at a Lowell Lundstrom evangelistic meeting in the area. That decision radically shifted the trajectory of their lives. They quit performing in nightclubs and honky tonks to instead carry the Good News of Jesus wherever they could through song. For over 30 years they criss-crossed the Midwest and Canada, singing in churches, campgrounds, and countless other venues, large and small. Eventually they also began making regular treks to Colombia where they helped missionaries Russ and Maria Stendal with music in radio broadcasts.

It was just under 17 months ago that we said farewell to Bebe. Now Rick has joined her in glory, laying aside his earthly body to be with the Lord. Rick is survived by three sons and two grandsons.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 12 at Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle (1400 Washington Ave, Cloquet, MN).
