Are you facing a difficult challenge right now? Are you facing things which seem insurmountable? Pastor David Daye from Progress Church wrote a word of encouragement which hopefully will be a gift of faith for you today.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is seeing beyond a measure of faith, it’s unlimited; with God all things are possible. This faith only operates according to the will of God; it only seeks to please God.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is a rewarding faith. Hebrews 11:6 says that “without faith it’s impossible to please God for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” There are two aspects of this reward. First, the reward for being persistent (Matthew 15:27) and secondly the reward for diligence. A persistent and diligent person receives the commendation of having great faith (Matthew 8:10, 15: 28). A diligent person takes God at His word and acts in faith because of their faith in their great Jesus.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is a sacrificial faith. It doesn’t seek its own good. A person with this faith is willing to lay down their life just as Jesus laid down his life and took it up back again; and as sure as the resurrection of Jesus is a certainty we can confidently hope for the appearance of his 2nd coming.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is a creative faith. It is seeing the ending before the beginning; because in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God (John 1:1-3). The farther backward we look is the further forward we will see, because nothing was made without Him. The more you look at God’s faithfulness in history and in your life the more clearly you will have creative faith for the future.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is an audacious faith. This faith doesn’t doubt; it even gives a praise report by testifying: the blind receives sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the gospel is preached to the poor (Matthew 11:2-5). Jesus saw the position that John Baptist was in and gave an emphatic confirmation statement about his Deity, by declaring that He is the son of God, the image of God in man, the incarnate Christ.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is a tangible faith. The faith of Jesus sees beyond the ordinary into the supernatural, “I am more than a reed shaken in the wind, more than a man clothed in soft garments as Kings, and much more than a prophet.” Faith declared that He is the Christ, the son of God which was revealed to Him by His Father (Matthew 16:18). Jesus asked the blind man what do you see? He replied “I see men like trees walking,” (Mark 8:24). As we walk by faith, we ask “can two walk together lest they agree”, “this is Jesus and me working together in agreement on behalf of my wellbeing,” He is “Jehovah Rapha” touched by the feelings of my infirmity.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is a loving faith. Jesus is fearless and courageous in His faith. His faith is fearless because of His love because perfect love casts out fear. On the cross, he transferred the agape love to us before he died, by declaring it’s finished. This loving faith restored our fellowship with God. It was a courageous faith because it gives us peace by defeating Satan. Romans 16:20, “the God of peace shall bruised the head of Satan under my feet shortly”– Jesus’ defeated the devil and led captivity captive and restores my peace with God. Therefore, I am empowered by the Holy Spirit to be more than a conqueror in the name of Jesus Christ.
The faith of Jesus is the channel for Grace; it’s the conduit for my salvation. I didn’t earn it by individual works (Ephesians 2:8), I received it because Jesus had faith to do what He came to do. Faith in His work and His blood is what sets me free. In other words, it is the faith of Jesus which climbs the steps that love has built and opens the window of hope for us. This faith always finds a way and thereby gives us free access into the presence of God.
Faith in the eyes of Jesus is the God kind of faith which can move mountains or dry up a fig tree with a word. This kind of faith that calls Lazarus from the grave, and He of Himself raised Himself after preaching three days in the grave); conquerors Satan, defeats death, and causes demons to tremble (James 2:19). Because the prophetic temple must be built in three days. This kind of faith knows no boundaries; walks through closed doors and openly declares himself the “Lord God Almighty.” This faith is never ending, never sleeps, always watches, and is always on time to serve and protect. Only one person has this kind of faith and his name is Jesus!
His faith justifies us and brings us into a right relationship with the Father. Through HIS faith we receive eternal life and a crown of righteousness. Faith in the eyes of Jesus is Love, for God is Love.
Our prayer is that you would be inspired by the faith of Jesus today and to ask Him for a gift of His faith to face whatever you are going through. What kind of faith do you need today, creative, audacious, tangible, sacrificial, or loving faith? Jesus has that faith to give you as a gift of faith right now. You can confidently ask Him knowing the He wants to reward those who are persistent and diligent in seeking Him in faith. He wants us to have faith so much that God will even give us faith as a gift. Ask Him today for the faith that you need.
